Tabletop Games

This is a collection of tabletop RPG writing, art, tools, and design work. It's done primarily in Fantasy Flight's Star Wars and Genesys systems. Excepting commissioned or work otherwise made ready-for-sale, all of this work can be found at my SWRPG repository.

Game Mods

  • Platform: Tabletop, PC, Android
  • Project Length: Multiple
  • Role: Solo developer
  • Tools: Various graphic design tools, Clickteam Fusion
  • Design: In addition to general item and skill tree design, I've built an evolving layout designed for ease-of-reading in each of my written pieces. I've also created several base weapon, character, and adventure designs as templates for my generator tools
  • Art: I've created several 2D maps and graphics as art components for my own work. I've also been commissioned to do work for private individuals and for other published works.
  • Development: I've built several procedural generation tools to allow for on-the-fly character and adventure creation, built on the back of an extensive personality generation algorithm.

RPG Books (2019, 2015)

These are the (fan-published) books I've written for the SWRPG system. Each is available as a .pdf download at my site.

Infinite Depths of Planet Aurum (2019) is an adventure book done in the style of a megadungeon. Instead of floors or rooms, the adventure uses portal-connected planets, each with unique themes and styles of play (e.g. a planet with no technology in a system that anticipates it). It includes twelve maps.

One Shot First (2015) is a sourcebook covering several planets and peoples. It was focused on a set of six interconnected adventures that could be played individually as discrete one-shot adventures. Included were several unique adventure types, including a mini point-crawl and a player-controlled whodunit. It includes twelve maps.

Published Commissions (2019, 2014)

These works are projects for which I was hired to design content.

Ready....Fight! (2019) is a sourcebook for the Genesys RPG based on unarmed combat. I was commissioned to do map work for this book.

Escape from Smuggler's Hold (2014) is an adventure I was commissioned to do all the map artwork for. It included three map sets with five total maps.

SWRPG Multi-Generator (2016)

Built as a continuation of an earlier NPC generation tool I made, this generator creates adventures (with biomes, NPCs, and objectives), weapons, and NPCs. The NPCs are created using a personality generation algorithm that generates a random psychological profile, extrapolates from that general inclinations toward careers, uses those careers as anchors for skill generation, and then builds an RPG-specific stat block for that NPC. The weapons are created using a hidden point buy system with silhouettes generated from a random kitbashing of weapon parts. The adventures are generated by pulling from a self-defined list of objective types, extrapolating how NPC needs might manifest in those objectives, and then assigning that to a fitting biome (from which appropriate challenges are built).

Map Packs (2013-)

These are collections of maps I've designed either individually or as part of a set.

I've published two different "construction kits" on the Roll20 store; tileable map creation tools for use with the digital tabletop.

The beginner game expanded maps (2013) was a set of eight maps I developed to expand the Edge of the Empire beginner game.

There are also several maps and dozens of deckplans not made for any particular publication made available on my site.

Standalone Adventures (2013-)

These are individual smaller adventures I've published for the SWRPG system. Each is available as a .pdf download at my site.

Quarantine Quandary (2014) is an adventure I helped to adapt and redesign for simultaneous timed play between two distinct player groups working on a single goal. It includes three maps.

A Primal Enterprise (2014) is an adventure designed to pit players against a series of goals outside the scope of single individuals (e.g. war, inevitable disaster, etc.). It includes two map sets with fourteen total maps.

Echoes of the Past (2013) is an adventure designed as a classic dungeon delve with special attention paid to designing around modifying perception for the players. It includes three map sets with eighteen total maps.

Bendu's Shadow/Stalitz Flight (2013) is an adventure set that featured a large portion of the play time spent in a 1:1-scale Star Wars starship. This was largely an exercise in using the full space of a simulation-level map (instead of a more narrative-friendly map). It includes three sets of maps with fourteen maps total.

EotE dice-rolling app (2013)

This is a lightweight, free dice roller for the custom dice used by the SWRPG system. It was developed for Android.
